About the Army Cadet Program
Army cadets is a free program for teens 12-18. Cadets learn a bunch of stuff they wouldn't learn in school--like map and compass, orienteering, camping, survival skills, first aid, mountain biking, leadership training and more! There are opportunities to travel the world, compete internationally, go to summer camp, and make friendships that last a lifetime.

Become a Civilian Instructor or Volunteer
There are many ways you can help out either as a Civilian Instructor or a Civilian Volunteer! A Civilian Instructor (CI) provides training and administrative support to the corps. A CI is a part-time employee of the Department of National Defence (DND) and with an employment contract issued by the Regional Cadet Support Unit (NorthWest). A Civilian Volunteer (CV) also provides training and administrative support to the corps, but are unpaid volunteers. Both of these positions requires a Police Records Check/Vulnerable Sector Screening (PRC/VSS). CIs and CVs can get a letter through the Army Cadet League of Canada to have their police check completed free of charge. Contact the 2509 Signals Army Cadets to get more information on the process!
